For me, on my Carvin LB75 the only things a touch at all live is pickup blend or backing off the treble for more classic tunes. Everything else is preset through my Zoom.

I just flick a tone switch, and sometimes flick it into series for a little bit of a boost.

I can't for the life of me understand how someone can get any kind of decent tone out of that. Do you have any live vids? I'd love to hear it. Not being snarky, either. Just know if I tried that with any of my MMs its sound horrible.

Volume, blend (if present), pickup switch w/series/parallel (if present), H/M/L EQ...in other words: I typically use every switch and knob at some point during the night.
2 band classic. On the 3 band, I keep it flat, boost mids depending on room. Tons of vids on youtube. Worm Suicide

I like to lower my volume and tone whenever I switch to play with a pick. This is not very often -- certainly I don't have good enough control with a pick to adjust using technique only.
Mainly pickup blend and passive tone knob. I'll adjust midrange gain and frequency (I have sweepable mids on my axe) but the bass boost stays flat almost all the time and treble stays put with maybe 25% boost going on. I don't really mess with those at all, or rarely so. Volume will get adjusted periodically depending on what's happening with the rest of the stage mix (IE - as the guitarists turn up).

Run direct, then you may adjust your level and tone on your amp if you need to.
If you adjust knobs on your bass, you are sabotaging the soundman, the mix, and thus your band.
What sounds nice in front of your amp is no indication as to what it sounds like in the house, it's just fighting the soundman who is trying to make you sound good.
this assumes there is a soundman. If it's a small no soundman gig then do whatever.

Tone rolled off all the way on rhythms, and then rolled up during leads. That is all. I leave both pickups at 100% and control tones with my effects.
The only one I don't adjust is volume. I adjust the blend to neck for a classic rock sound, to the bridge for latin, and somewhere in the middle for normal bass sound. I'm all over the EQ boosting mids for a fretless sound, or boosting treble for funk. I have a Tobias with a Bartolini 3 band EQ.
I find myself running passive live these days and just adjust the tone knob as need for the song. I have basses with incredible sounding preamps, but there is something magical about a passive P in a live mix.
Mostly volume to mute the instrument.

I set mine to a "flat" sound to myself then leave my amp flat and play!
