what pickups for squier bronco?

I have a squier bronco and like a lot of people i would like to mod the crap out of it, the pickup being the main thing, also maybe changing the pickguard, bridge, tuners and maybe give it a swirl paint. If anyone has modded a bronco in the past any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Easiest pickup swap would be a strat sized rail pickup. I believe a strat lipstick pickup would work as well. Ordinary strat pickups would technically work (used in the musicmaster bass) but the pole pieces wouldn't line up quite right
