What size amp for rehearsal ?

More is always better when it comes to the low end. I use a 800watt head and a 410 cab at rehearsal and the same rig for most gigs I just adjust volume accordingly. I have a second 410 cab should I need more volume. YMMV but a 50 watt rig is a joke really.

see above posts/questions. just depends on the scenario. My normal rigs are an Ampeg 210 or a Bugera Veyron/115 set up. I recently picked up a Fender Rumble 40v3 for playing with acoustic guitar players and other things like that. In that aspect, it works just fine and is plenty loud. Could I use the Rumble 40 in a normal rock/punk band practice, nope. Not in my experience. It all depends on your bandmate variables. Drummer/guitar volumes and music type.
