what size strap: 2.5 or 3"?

All my straps are 2.5" leather. 3 split (Ps and J) and one Levy's Padded (SR5).

2.5" Moody straps. I'm 5'8" and 140 lb. Tried 3, 3-½", but they cut into my neck and shoulder, 2.5 nails it for me. That said my Precision only weighs 8.4 lbs

I have Levy's 3-inch woven cotton straps on all my basses. I can't stand leather and neoprene doesn't breathe well.

2.5 is perfect, three inch or wider cuts into my collarbone...

2 inch strap for me. Wide leather on my shoulder seems to give me no movement which some might like….. moving around on stage I’m dodging guitars, cymbals, cables…. You get it.

I prefer a wider strap to spread the weight, but the padding is a must.

Years ago when they still offered terrific guitar straps, Reunion Blues had a padded leather strap that even made my RD Artist FEEL 5 pounds lighter than that 13# monster actually weighed. I sold it to get something lighter . . . a then brand new Peavey T40, and it was a big help with that one too.

Boy do I wish they still sold that one.
