What software tools do you use for teaching and live recording?

I'm a bassist interested in making it easier for people to record live music, songwrite and improve on music.

I was thinking to make an app that would do the following:

• Being able to save quick clips and multi track on top of each other easily, using VIDEO and AUDIO. Not just audio.
• Being able to record a live video session with my teacher and have an option to volume/mute his bass lines so i can try to learn on top.
• Being able to easily mute any bass lines on any song and record my video on top of it. Later reference back to my hands on the video if i forget the song.
• Being able to record live music with multiple phones, each iPhone has two mics that run in stereo.

Any insights for the pro teachers here? VERY appreciated.
