Double Bass What Solo strings for orch tuning 50/50 arco/pizz

Could you compare them to Spriocore solo?

I can't. I only played spiro solos quickly on one kay with the action set too high and one german bass with the action set too low. Played less than 10 notes each time. If someone wants to send me a set of spiro solos I can compare...or just send the perpetuals to someone who knows what they're talking about

I'm recovering from a serious wrist injury and recently changed from Spiro solos at orchestra pitch to Perps. As I hoped they were slightly stiffer and a little ballsier both pizz and Arco. Perhaps after another year of rehab I'll bump up to orchestra spiros.

The solo version of your regular string of choice would probably be a good place to start.

I'm using Flex Deluxe solos at standard pitch right now. I used the regular version when I was playing all the time, but can't play enough right now to maintain my endurance so I switched to solos. My experience has been they are pretty similar to the regular Flex Deluxe but with reduced tension. They still have nice bow response and solid dark/vintagey pizz.
