what strings for a Music Man Stingray??

I use GHS Pressurewounds on my 'Rays. I've previously used Chromes and Super Bright Nickels. Honestly they all sounded good but the Pressurewounds really hit a homerun for me. RATM's bass tone has more to do with Commeford's effect chain and amplification than his string choice in my opinion. I'm pretty sure he uses or used Ernie Ball Slinkys on his Ray's though.

Those were the Fenders, after listening to them plenty of times at work I'm defo going back to them, the second is la bella stainless steel

I've been playing a Ray since 1980 and the only two makes I use are the Fender and Ernie Ball slinky 40 to 100

I really liked either TI Jazz Rounds or Fender Flats depending on the rig.

To be honest, StingRays are a bass that sounds so good with many brands. I have a 1989 StingRay 5 which I believe is the second year for 5's in that brand, with rosewood neck. Love the bass but weighs a ton, but an incredible sound. I like Fat Beams on it but it sounds good with D'Addario Nickols also.

Sounded great! Just like a stingray should. I heard a difference in the brightness of the d and g strings but the lower strings sounded all gnarly stingray to me.

I always loved DR Nickel Lo Riders on my Stingray 5. I miss it!
