What strings for F#BEA?

It sounded unmusical, or he sounded unmusical?
Probably a combination of:
Him
Bass
Amp
It was really hard to make it sound nice when I had a go, It was like every note was just an undecipherable blur of overtones :s - but again it could just be bad pick-ups and an amp no-where near decent enough to handle it.
I've tried a Dark Lord loaded with the Warwick .175, tuned down to E, going through a Warwick Hellborg-signature "fridge". It sounded MASSIVE. String-tension left some things to be desired, but that would probably be alleviated if you'd get a single .175 and make a custom balanced string-set from there. Say .175, .130, .095, .070, .055, .040. Tuned down a step to EADGCF, it'd be low-tension, but at least uniform. That way you won't have to change touch from string to string.
Power is definitely not a problem, but I think Im gonna need to get a 1x18 when I get the money.

I have a plan for a Six string tuned C#00, F#00, B00, E0, A0, D1. Not to use those subsonic Vibrations, But to play them above the 12th fret & get Thick, Tubby Tones & I'll let the Highs get covered by the guitar.

Col E Loc, I remember asking Garry Goodman about B000 on a 34" scale bass, which isn't so far from C#00. He said even with the best preamp, pickups, strings, and cabinet, it wouldn't work, although he said he was able to get E00, which isn't too far away. Victor Basson said that even B00 at full volume could melt the coil on his cabinets, and his cabinet could handle the G#00 file from Octave4Plus, so if you're playing above the 12th fret you should be okay, but if you hit that open C#00, you might just blow your speakers. And you would probably need a .300+ gauge string to tune that low (Garry used a .262 to get G#00.) People are going to think I'm a shill for Octave4Plus, but if you're looking for something bigger than .145, that is your best option IMO, but the biggest gauge they have right now is .270, and while they do have some super size flats, they don't have flats in that range.
