What strings should I get for my Epiphone El Capitan ABG?

Perfect tone, perfect tension...and they feel so smooth.
(Headphones are recommended.)
Sounds like you already have your answer. TIJF's are certainly one of the popular choices for ABG players around here.
I just found this thread where Karl Kaminski does some amazing demo videos of Aquila's new Copper wrapped 'Sugar' strings for ABG. These sound JUST like what I am looking for.

Hi guys, I wish I knew more about the final release date etc. Mimmo (owner) is an active member here on TB. I'd imagine the release date will be soon, especially with the other scales being developed.
@rickwolff Do you want anything else from the strings other than being 'flats'? Hand feel, tension, response, darker, brighter?
I'd also recommend looking at TI AcoustiCore and TI Jazz Rounds along with the ubiquitous TI Jazz Flats. They are non-flats (round wounds) but if feel and response are as important, they are great contenders for non-flats.
—But some don't like the lower tension.
If you want to experiment with some other flats options before the Aquilastrings' release, here are some other demos I posted...

I highly recommend Labella's LTF. I have them on my Maton Bindarra Bass and my Eston. They just seem to get better with age.... retaining a beautiful deep thump at the start of the note and no horrible metallic overtones. They have been on for a few years.
I tried over a dozen different sets until John @ Bass Emporium suggested Rotosound TruBass 88 and they are perfection on my Washburn AB20. Solid foundation and thump, sweet highs for harmonics & clarity and intonation is very close.
Whoa! That's YOOJ (in every sense)! I'm not even sure there's anyone else on these boards owning one.

I’ve used TI AB344 Acousticores and LaBella 750C Copper White Nylons on my El Capitan. Both worked well for me. I’d hesitate to put any flats other than TIs on it because I’d be concerned about the amount of tension being put on the bridge and worry about it lifting over time.
FWIW I originally had a fairly dead phosphor-bronze set on it (I bought my ElCap used) and I could still get a passible imitation upright vibe out of it. So I don’t think flats are really necessary for that effect. Even an already broken in sounding string set like GHS Pressurewounds should get you in the ballpark. Especially if you approach and play a bassline more like an upright bassist rather than electric bass player would. Since you are an upright player, probably know what I’m saying about approach without me needing to elaborate.
