So the stage manager at the festival i played at yesterday was a hoot. The guy was older, definitely had a chip on his shoulder, and didn't take gruff from anyone. We get to talking and this is what he says.....

Me: Thanks for having us here Frank! We are happy to be here, i'm Gus, the bass player for Split Finger.

Him: Bass player eh?? I have a cure for that...

Me: Oh yeah?

Him: Yeah, get a f@#$ing real job!

ME: :eyebrow:

Note to self, never become a stage manager.

More than likely a grizzled old man who's played for years and seen tons of rock star dreams crash and burn and just giving you advice. :hiding:

were you wearing shorts?

HAHA, actually yes... It was hot out there yesterday!

And as far as the poster who guessed i'm "fairly young", haha, i'm 36, i have been playing professionally since i was 17. :p

Obviously the stage manager had used that line millions of times, i just never heard it before. I'm pretty sure he didn't "just make that up" :D

The stage manager had a real thick scottish accent too. I think he could've said he loved unicorns and fairies and it still would've sounded like he was about to rip your head off! The guy was hilarious.
