For a few weeks I thought there was a problem with the wiring (A/C taper blend pot), but after modifying my SRX to V/V & not noticing a big change I thought I'd leave the SR1800E stock (V/B).

For a few weeks I thought there was a problem with the wiring (A/C taper blend pot), but after modifying my SRX to V/V & not noticing a big change I thought I'd leave the SR1800E stock (V/B).
Currently I have 5 Basses. One of them is a 2016 USA Fender P.
It’s beautiful, lightweight, perfect neck, and it’s a P, so great sound for any occasion.
However, my eye caught this credit card+ neckpocket relief.
I just don’t understand how this is possible for a 2000 USD (Europe) Fender bass.
I have not made up my mind yet.

Very nice, I had a 1205 with fancy woods that unfortunately had a 1” crack in the top-wood.

Another example:
Excellent bass, fantastic playability. Mark King licks were never more easy to play. However: you can’t play it while seated, it slides of your leg all time unless you press your for-arm real hard agains the upper body. Really uncomfortable to me.

Battery covers held in place with tiny, soft, wood screws. Always a hassle, eventually a problem. Couple that with really cheap, flimsy battery connectors, and tiny wires that are too long or too short.
It’s even more annoying after having a Dingwall with an absolutely genius, no tools required, super solid, magnetic battery cover.
Tough to find annoying details on a Dingwall. I keep finding clever refinements. Like the scalloped relief on the back of the lower bout, which makes upper fret access easy. Everything is top notch, fit and finish is perfect.
But what really makes me spitting mad? Subaru headlights. Really? I have to jack up the car, remove the wheel, peel back the fender liner, (breaking half the stupid plastic fasteners) reach way the hell up in there with one hand, and remove a o ring sealed cover, and then fiddle with the tiny clip? Every six months? At $20 a bulb? My personal best time: 40 minutes (might as well change the oil while I’m under there.)

Nice! One of the very few brands I haven’t owned or even fiddled around with in a shop.
You probably did own them at one time or another, since there were used...lol!!
Dingwalls can be hard to find. I bought my first one used from the TB classifieds. I thought I was going out on a limb. It was the start of an obsession. Ten years now.
I’ve owned five, and they were all excellent in every way. Thinned the herd to one, but recently fell for this beauty. And I claimed I’d never own a black bass!
Passive Super P. Under 8 lb. simple perfection.
Exciting stuff happening with Dingwall with the new Nolly Getgood combustion line. Definitely worth a look.

I used to buy and sell basses like crazy too. Too much neck dive, bored with the color, that kind of stuff.

Lazy musicians who show to rehearsal and have nothing ready
and forgot their mics and tuners and set lists etc...

What ticks me off is people showing up to rehearsals or even gigs and have clearly not prepared. Grrrrrr.
Try playing with the strap on, I always do, for stability.
yup, I recently did both light bulbs on our receptionist's Outback. I work in a diesel shop, how hard can that be?
I just crank the wheel and peeled back the fender liners as far as I could, we have a drawer full of plastic clips.
