Can someone tell how they think the mb112 compares tone wise to the mb115?

Well they both sound good and the MB115-II has a little more volume than the MB112-II and all the GK MB-II series bass combos sound a little different from each other and to be honest its near impossible to accurately describe the little differences with words so, just buy one and if you don't like it at least you can return it - unlike with a DIY cab.

As somebody who already owns a MB115 (and really likes it-for some musical genres), I would choose the MB200/Faital 210 cab combination. OTOH, the fact that you really liked the tone of the MB115 suggests that buying an MB115 is a safe and good choice. Why do our opinions matter anyway? Get what you like. Don't worry, it won't be your last purchase. :>)
