What to do when you find a Dinosaur?

Looking at Reverb sold listings, they've moved from $800 to just under $4000, so it's just a matter of patience and if it's worth putting in the money to restore it, whatever that would come to, against potential gain.

Curious, where do you see $4,000? I see none for sale, and under Sold listings, I only see one which sold for $1,900. Thanks.

Thanks! The Reverb search engine sucks. I searched on "Fender 400 PS" and "Fender 400", and it didn't find that listing because the guy titled it "Fender 400-ps" with a hyphen.

I have one that I'm considering selling, since I'll probably never use it.
The sucess of that price is rare, someone must have been jonesing for it.
If you can get $1500 to $2K, I’d call it it a good day. My favorite vintage store in L.A., Caveman…
…has had a PS 300, the scaled down version, for $1300, and it’s sat there for a while.

I take a somewhat jaundiced view whenever someone just joined TB and almost immediately starts picking member’s brains for a gear valuation with the intent of selling the thing. This ain’t Pawn Stars. But maybe that’s just me.

Valuation requests are also something you’re required to be a supporting TB member to do per the forum rules since it’s effectively a sales ad as evidenced by the interest already shown by a few TB members.
I can sympathize to a degree with your opinion.
However, please 🙏 be somewhat forgiving. Some of us are NOT living the dream. At the end of 2020 my life took a turn for the worse and I am still recovering.
Mentally, physically, and financially (which is being the hardest point).
I have gotten such good information from people here at TalkBass, and it has helped me a lot.
A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL❤️

A BIG APOLOGY TO ANYONE WHO FEELS I AM INTRUDING, I wouldn't be doing it but for desperation. People I take care of are suffering.

A strong note of encouragement to people posting humorous replies.
Keep trying!!!
I don't think you are quite ready for HBO special just yet.

Onwards and upwards and keep on rocking or whatever you like to do

It’s not a matter of intruding. But this is a community. And I’ve been on online communities in the past that got flooded with people who had zero interest in the community other than to make money off or through it. And the community suffered for it. And I do understand your circumstances may be different than what I originally thought and deserving of special consideration which I’d be more than willing to grant. So my sinceredt apologies for that. But by the same token, you sharing your situation up front would have gone a long way towards helping me avoid a misunderstanding. That said, I wish you the best in dealing with your unfortunate situation. Been there once or twice myself many years ago and those aren’t happy memories. Be well.

A kind reply and I am grateful 🙏
I am having to go at top speed and some courtesy has fallen through the cracks.
Just sold my explorer 2 and eBay is holding the funds almost a month.
Sometimes you can't go fast enough
