Looks like this is an issue that can irritate a person wanting to install the Darkglass tone capsule. Would a trickfish or other preamps still cause this small cosmetic issue? I’m looking at options for my BTB 866 ms

How big of a difference in tone did you get with the tone capsule installed?

Not a huge difference. It does sound perhaps a bit growlier, but nothing that's going to blow you away. That said, I haven't fiddled with it too much yet, so there may be some tones that are awesome and I just haven't found yet. And I don't think I'm going to miss the treble knob.

I had a hole in an Ibanez bass at about that exact spot before. I stuck an adhesive backed - pick holder over it. Turned out to be very useful.

Go to a toy store, buy a tiny little plastic animal and glue it in so its head is sticking out of the hole. A gopher would, of course, be ideal.

I would reach out to Darkglass with the question. They would know if it can be done, and how is the best way to do it. Then, take it to the best tech/luthier local to you and have him follow their steps EXACTLY.
