Okay, so I read all the possible reasons for my problem ( bass that is ) I would have to say that "I am the reason for it."
I joined this site specifically for this...... I have an old Fender pbass copy that I wanted to re-wire and I found a diagram for it. I get a current to everything ( jack, pots 1 tone, 1 volume and pic-ups 2. ) I do not however get any sound ( except buzz ) when I connect my pic-up/s......... My pots work as I can change the tone and adjust volume of the buzzz.
