Hello fellow TBers. My birthday is coming up shortly and I was wondering what bass-related item I should ask for. I’ve got every tool I need for a setup, don’t need strings for years (just put some flats on both my basses), I have nice straps, a nice tuner, etc. Maybe some more cleaning products or such. I was thinking of a looper pedal (like the Ditto) but I don’t think I would put it to much use. Perhaps another kind of pedal. Don’t want a compressor pedal or any type of modulation pedal... I’m pretty straight forward when it comes to tone/sound. Any and all ideas/suggestions are appreciated.
Guitar stand? Pickups? Lesson(s)? USB interface? Mic? Or just put cash in the rainy day fund? Not glamorous, but very practical!
Thanks for the suggestions, Alan. Yeah, maybe another stand is in order. I will definitely consider that. Thanks again
Assuming you're looking at the lower end stuff ... String cleaner Headphone amp Headphones Cables Gig wardrobe stuff? Mic stand gadgets (tray, fan, pick holder, etc) Cable organizer stuff (ties, markers) Little bags for gear organizing Gaffer's tape
Better cables. After a point, you're wasting money, but I do like Mogamis better than generics. I'm always surprised to see lots of guys with serious axes and amps and $5 cables, and it seems to be the last thing we think about. I'm NOT paying a grand for some 'Vaporware Especial' with braided unobtanium, but I've learned cheap cables with pin-prick soldering and no stress-relief will come back to bite you in the hindquarters . . . . .
Thanks man. I just got a new cable I’m real happy with. And the ones that I have already have lasted me for about 15 years and are still doing pretty well. They were from Fulltone
Gruv Gear Fret Wraps? Maybe ask for a gift certificate of a local or online shop, then you can get whatever you want.
One of those Hercules stands, a Mono dual gig bag, an interface, a case for something that doesnt have a case, or maybe some musical literature, either educational or for fun.
