What to practice when you don't know what to practice?

I think drug use guy has a point, but got it backwards

Highly artistic people tend to use drugs - but drugs do not make you highly artistic

People that take drugs to make themselves more creative are fooling themselves - you need to have the highly creative part in you first

Sure, someone smoking a joint here or there may have some new insight - but heroin?

So, take that break - and maybe smoke a doobie but that is all

I recommend, in all seriousness, illegal drug usage.

I have written the best, most creative songs of my life under the influence of substance.

Also, I would like to site the immeasurable impact of psychedelics on the creativity of music in the 60s to 70s, the impact of marijuana on blues based metal/rock (Stoner is actually a popular genre), and the fact that Nine Inch Nails, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Megadeth, Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, and others have written their best material to date during periods of extended heroin usage.

Drug abuse was common way before the 60s 70s ... The classical composer Franz Schubert was in a period name Romantic-era where it was normal that art was filed with very powerful emotion... to create those emotion ... the artist had to live them and so ... many artist like Schubert abuse of alchool, drugs, slep with many women ( when he had a girlfriend who leave him when she discovered what he did ) that breaks his heart to create more very emotionnal music. So it isn't new and it is stupid because every drug abuser die very young.

Just take a break - you may have a little burnout syndrome going on - it can happen to anyone in any occupation

You obviously have serious talent but the mind needs diversity - maybe pick up a new hobby or interest for a little while -

My 0.2cents is to exercise - I like to go for a long walk (used to run when the knees were good) and something beautiful starts to happen about 30 minutes into it - the mind starts to see things in a whole new light, and problems seem to get solved right out of thin air -

Give it a try and good things will happen -

Absolutely. In fact, why not just arrange to die in a plane crash. Did wonders for Buddy Holly and SRV's legacy.
