Over the last few years, I've slowly gravitated towards the P body shape.

I've currently got three (plus a pointy bass with P pickup).

One MIA P, a Squier P/J, and a mutt SCPB that I modded with dual humbuckers.

I have two Carvin 6 stringers with J pickups.
I have a Vantage/Matsumoto 4 stringer with 2 p pickups
I have a Steinberger XL-2 - what the hell am I talking about here. Well, the EMG pickups are internally arranged like a p bass pickup.
I do also have a Musicman Sub 5 that I like a bunch thee days.

Going forward, I think I would prefer P and MM pickups as I am positive that after 30+ years of playing I like the wider aperture pickups tonally a bit more. Not saying I would not have a j pickup in the arsenal though-just a tonal preference.

I prefer P body style? I play two with a PJ configuration, one with a P-MM, one with a MM, 2 with a P, and one with 2 humbuckers.....
