Ok. This in the bass thread, but I thought this would be a cool thread for amps as well!!!

My first amp was a 1970 Acoustic 226. I don't remember anything else about it.
Now, I use an SWR Bass 750, TC Electronics Triple C Compressor, Korg DTR-1 Tuner, SWR Bass Monitor, Schroeder Mini 12 and a Schroeder 1212...
What a long way from the begining!

My first amp was a GK MB150. It was tiny but sounded great. I was a fool to let it go.

My current rig is: Brunetti "Mister B!" two channel tube preamp -> Bergantino IP310. It is mid sized, but gets loud as hell and sounds terrific:

Invalid Link Removed was my first "bass" rig. This is the one I use most often now. An improvement? Guess it depends who you ask, but I love the Traynor.

My first amp was a Trace Elliot GP7SM 130 & Peavey 210TX. Many amps later, I am now running an Ampeg SVT-CL and Bergantino NV610. I am sure I will be using this combo for many years to come.

When I did my first ever studio gig there was this 10 watt Daison tube combo (guitar) kicking around in the front room and the studio manager said to take it away.

Just bought a B15N.... I've gone up a whole 20 watts

My first amp (1977): Heathkit 25-Watt mono hi-fi tube amp atop a homemade 15" speaker.

Today: GK MB150E combo, and GK Backline 600 head atop DIY 12" speaker.

I had to make my own first amp, from my mom's old stereo. It was one of those furniture looking turntable/radio combos, all tube, and about 30 watts. It sucked, but it worked. My first real bass amp was a Peavey TKO 65, which I used for several years, then a host of other amps like Fender BXR, Crate, GK, etc. Now I have a 2 amp stereo rig, Ampeg V4BH on an SVT210, and 15, and a Mesa Walkabout on a Powerhouse 410, and 210. It's all about making up for that crappy homemade thingie.

Ist was in 1975 abouts(Dad said to me "you're just starting to play in bands, you might as well get an amp cab that can last you, rather than a li'l thing you'll only have to replace in a year!" wise words) I was 12 yrs old.
Aus. made VASE BASSMAN 100 head.(about 1970 model & a copy of the Fender Bassman) with a matching cab w/ 15" & 12" spkrs in it. NO pics sorry.

First amp I proudly owned (instead of borrowed) was a Baldwin Professional Custom. 100w 2x12 combo with colored plastic "tone" switches that operated sort of like piano keys if my memory serves me correctly. Crazy thing.

In between 1969 and today ... too many to recall.

These days a Mesa Walkabout 12 with a Scout 15 extension.

Hey Edword how is the bass response and overall tone on those vintage Traynor cabs.

Not so hot, as the speakers are replacements that (I believe) are for guitar instead of bass. I'm planning to switch to neos, or something along those lines.

First bass amp was a Peavey TNT150. My current main gigging rig is an iAMP500C with a wizzy extension cab.

While I no longer own that TNT, I do use a TNT160 at a practice space.

My first amp was a 50w Marshall circuit design valve head that my step-dad had rebuilt from a blown Linear L50. It used to power a pair of Goodmans Audiom 15P dual-concentric 15 inch WEM cabs. I blew one of the 15s and replaced it with a 150w 15" HH driver but i made sure it was a 4 ohm driver so i only had to carry one cab cuz the linear output transformer has taps for 3(4) and 15(16) ohms only (they were heavy when i was 15!). I still have it today, infact its sat next to me as i write this.
My first dedicated bass amp was a Trace Elliot Boxer 30 and from this is where my love of Trace amps began. It kicked every other similar spec'd amps ass at the time. Later I had a 712SMC, 130w 12" combo and just upgraded and got bigger till i got the 600w 12 band head, the 4x10" and the 1x15". Monster! I sold the head and the cabs and got My Trace Elliot V4 and a peavey 4x10" later changing to a Crashdown 2x10". My next move is to lose the V4 and get a V-Type preamp and use it with my good old Carver PT2400 power amp, i'm tired of valves. So i'm essentially doing what everyone does: looking for more power/volume from a smaller setup. I'll upgrade the 10s in the Ashdown as in bridge mode at 8 ohms the carver will put out an obscene 2400w (at 4 ohms it'll do 3kw!) And don't worry, i know no-one does 1000+ watt 10" bass speakers, i'll just have to be careful! I would say i've upgraded!
