My first bass amp was a Silvertone 100 watt Solid State the cost about 50.00 dollars. right from Sears & Roebuck. Ok that was going back to 1967 I had alot of amps since then.

Back in '71 my folks helped me buy a used Heathkit SS bass combo that had been split into a head/cab configuration.
IIRC it was 100 watts w/ 2-12" CTS drivers and a terrible
60hz hum.
It was pretty loud and had a good svt-like O/D tone.
A year later I sold the cab to the lead player to go w/his Sunn combo and bought 2 huge cabs w/ 1-15" AltecLansing 421A each.
Hard to move but sounded righteous to the bone....

A Kalamazoo Bass 50, purchased in 1966 or 1967. If I remember correctly it had two ten's and (duh) 50 watts.
My first amp was an East German 50w Regent combo! This brand is over now,like the Country!
It was the cheap solution in that time, but I think it sounds better than today entry level amps. Next amp was a Crete 15 combo.

used Acoustic 370 head with a fender 2x15 cab from there an Ampeg 8x10 paired with the 370. until i was able to save for my first used SVT.
Mine was a brand new 12" peavey combo, before that I used the cassete player and hifi solution. Can't remember the exact type. I spraypainted a portrait of Lou Reed on the speaker cloth. (strange thing to do for a bassplayer, but those were my dark and troublesome velvet underground fan years). Someone stole it from the squat I was living in at the time, so if anyone now owns an early 80's peavey with Lou Reed on front: it's mine.

Silvertone/Dont remember the model # Supposed to be 100watts seperate head and 2/12 cab.It had a rip in the grill cloth and the guy sold it to me (my mom) for $85.Two channels.Probably not a true bass amp, but it worked for 5 years till I got my Sunn 100s.The guys in another local band called it a Lady Kenmore. Wasn't very funny then,
