What was your major in College?

I really would have liked to have double-majored in college. My major is a pretty practical degree if you choose to go to grad school (i.e., psychology), which I did. I would have liked to have double-majored in something less practical, such as philosophy, or something a lot more practical, such as business management. :D

But I started college four years after high school, so I just wanted to get in, get done, and get on to grad school.

From what I understand, David Draiman from Disturbed triple majored in college and was considering law school before joining the band. Very cool, IMO.

I guess the good and bad side of music performance is that credentialism is not as strong as it is in the corporate world. Your BA won't get you a gig over another guy if your playing and attitude are chum. I've always felt a degree in music would be fun, and good if I ever wanted to teach music. Can't see much other use than that

Lucky - I think when it comes down to it... Any undergraduate degree is not as meaningful in the long run. Not sure what you could really teach with any undergrad degree...

What it can give you though, is you say you studied music at such and such, someone who doesn't know you at all may take you a little bit more seriously than some guy with a bass looking for a gig.
