What wireless system?

Would you guys reccomend the Line 6 G50 over the pricier Senheiser? I'm looking for a nice wireless to last me on tour, not give me any problems, and of course not affect my tone. I have two friends that reccomend the Senheiser but they play guitar. I'd like to have something by next week. Any help? Thanks.

No experience with the Sennheiser unit, but I am more than happy with my G50. If you go with the G50, I would suggest buying a couple of spare transmitter cables as backups. I had one made with a Switchcraft 90 degree plug end, and actually broke the end slamming my bass on my leg (the output jack on my custom Moser Arachnid Ultra is on the back of the body).

Cheers!

my guitarist has the sennheiser and i have the line 6 g90 (just rackmounted, pretty much the same as the g50 in every other aspect) and what became clear as we toured up the east coast was the input jack on his sennheiser reciever was dodgy and that his batteries went flat a lot quicker than mine, even though we changed them at the same time. was rather frustrating thinking we had hours left, only for him to cut out on stage and me make it four cities!

i love my line 6, it's amazing. recommend it highly!

Anyone have experience with something like this:

It seems plausible that a passive instrument could benefit from what it being offered. Is this based on valid science or is it BS for the electrically challenged minds (such as my own)?

Do the G50's have the setup like the samson airline's? With just something you plug into the bass and no back you have to wear? I know that thing would fly off my in about half a song.

Yes, there's a transmitter that you need to clip to your strap. as far as flying off goes, it seems pretty tight. You could always gaffer tape it around the strap & clip.

I just bought a G50, and I think it's great. Well worth the extra $100 over the G30, IMO. The metal construction was the clincher for me. 12 channels instead of 6, the battery power indicator and 200' instead of 100'. I A/B'd it with a cord and couldn't really tell a difference, and NO delay from out in the back yard. A couple of weird looks from the neighbours, tho'. :bassist:

Happily used the X2 Plus for many years. Recently ugraded to the G50, and immediately noticed a strong bump in the lower mid frequencies - not good. Gave it to my guitar player and went back to my X2, which sounds far more transparent, and works in almost all environments (unless there is massive radio use in the area.)
