I bought this bass 25 years ago when I lived in Belgium from a local luthier named Ed Collier. I really don't know what woods it is made from other than guessing the neck is maple. Can you help me identify the wood?

What woods is this bass made from?

No expert, but I have seen mahogany that looks like that, so my guess would be that the body is mahogany.
Body and headstock front and back plate are definitely mahogany. Neck is maple. My best guess as to the fingerboard is Pau Ferro. But it could be some light shade of rosewood. I imagine the skunk strip is whatever the fingerboard is or rosewood.

The lightest body blank I ever came across was mahogany. Generally it is pretty heavy, but it can also be very light if you get the right piece.
Yes, the body is definitely mahogany. Very similar grain and colouring to my 5-string Status S2 5'er.
