What would your life be like without a Cell phone ?

How can some of you people revolve your life around your cell phone? I don't get it.

The power of the almighty $.

My life would be very disorganized considering I don't even have a house phone.

Easier. I hate these things. I hate when people talk in public on them and private conversations at loud volumes.

I hate the way it has caused kids to be stuck to it. There is no reason a 10 year old needs to be socially available at all times. Go outside and make some friends.

I hate how the work place abuses the ease of contact for employees expecting someone to answer the phone 24 hours a day.

The only good thing I can see is the ease of use for emergency situations. But I am never out on the middle of BFE where I couldn't ask to use a house phone if I needed to.

Convenience has a price, and it's more than that monthly bill we get.

I got my first cell phone this year. I turn it on every once in a while when I need to call someone and I'm not near another phone. I think I've used it less than 20 times so far. I have some voice msgs on it that I haven't bothred to listen to yet.

So I guess my life would be just about exactly the same without it except I wouldn't get asked all the time why I don't have a cell phone

I hate them, but accept them as necessary.

My iPhone is what gets me through life, keeps me organized and in touch.

Though I DO hate that everyone expects me to drop everything when they call. I hit the ignore button more than I pick up. I'll only pick up if I'm ready to take a call.

I can't stand the people who are in the middle of a conversation and just pick up, unless they're a doctor.

The world and I managed for a long time without this kind of access. For me SMS is the best part, and I use that instead of yakking unnecessarily. I never answer unknown calls.

My life would be different, sure. I don't have a landline phone anymore, so all my calls are through the cell. That said, I'm not on the phone all that much--I get maybe one call a day on it while I'm at work, then one or two at night (sometimes it's a long talk, though). But I do love the convenience of it, I admit it.

I think I am the only Person on Long Island who does not own one of these things !

So MM, you've entered the 21st century and bought a computer--do you have a cell phone now, too?

I had one for a short while, got rid of it and really haven't looked back.

I'm near a phone all day at work and of course I have one at home. I'm also $600+ richer at the end of the year.

I'm not totally against them and know for some people it's a necessity. The public loud talker is sometime annoying, but what really gets under my skin are the people who lose all motor functions while driving and speaking on their phone.

I listen to and anwser a ringing telephone all day at work. When you hear a phone ringing non stop all day long the last thing you want to hear when you go out to eat, or watch a movie is a phone ringing. I am one of the few that wishes we didn't have mobile phone technology........

But they do beat the really old outdated beep phones that some old timers still try to use. Have you ever had a call where you can only talk once the person on the other end talks, then they cannot talk until you quit talking. Once they quit you hear a beep and you know you can go ahead and talk, talk about frustrating as all get out......

HEAVEN!!!! It would be a world with out ditsy blonds cutting people off...roads would be paved with gold...no "in da club" ring tones while I'm trying to watch movies....no outrageous overage charges I can wait 10 minutes till i get home to make a phone call.

I don't use it very much, but I always wear it. Life would definitely be a lot more inconvenient if I didn't have it. I like to be able to reach people when I need them and I don't mind being reachable either when other people need me, as long as too many people don't need me all the time. If that was the case, I'd shut off my phone in the weekends and holidays.

Cellfone for business is great. Had one starting in 1987 (the old brick kind-$1300) Paid for itself in a few months. Had it setup with a handsfree microphone way back then.

Now they're micro-computers and will only get more powerful, is already replacing laptops for many uses, especially with all the software available online and faster networks. Many family members don't have a land line any more. Text messaging is very useful. Being able to check the interweb and get email is a plus.

It's just another tool, like a toothbrush, it gets work done.

i spent my whole day today with my cell in the bag, didnt bother about me until i had to call up a friend....... and it was screaming out: 8missed calls, 4texts, battery low

I hate it when some people drop everything when someone calls them about trivial things.

If I get ringed, and I'm busy or with company, I call back letter.
