what ya think?

so to start out playing bass i bought a simple 200 dollar ibanez..but ive been playing for 2 months and after trying out some more expensive basses i've realized it makes a big difference and i really liked the one i tried out. I'm not looking to go big and spend sick amounts of money because i'm still learning but what do you guys think of the Fender Standard Precision 4 string?

It sounds to me like you're discovering the difference it makes when you upgrade; that's important. If you're serious about continuing to play the bass and it's not going to put you into hock in order to upgrade, doing so is a worthwhile venture. Always buy the best instrument you can afford. Keep in mind I'm not saying the most expensive, but whatever is the best you can afford at the time. It's always worth it to invest in yourself in that manner. Just my humble opinion.
Oh, and to answer your question, I like it.

i use a ****** ibz10 guitar amp for my bass....enough said with that alone...it sucks...i was going to get an amp prior to the bass...but i want a good one

The Fender P bass is a fine bass and many many TBers use them all the time. There are several very good threads about them. Do you need a new more more expensive bass now or would a "real" bass amp be a better use of your money?
(IMHO -- yes, yes. yes get the new amp first, your Ibby is fine for now and will sound much better through a bass amp).

About your amp question.....................
Here are a few question you need to clarify first before anyone can offer any meaningful info ............

How much money to you have/want to spend on a new amp?
What type of music do you play?
Do you play with one or more guitarist, what is the size of their gear (how ***ing loud are they)?
Do you play with a drummer? (How loud is your drummer?)
How big is the club you plan to use your new amp in?
Can you physically transport your new dream amp (can you carry it and will it fit in your car)?
Have you read any of the amp threads here on TB yet?

Research and answer each of these question then you'll know what amp to buy.
