What year did you start playing bass?

1978 @ age 14....after having played drums since age 5 and piano since age 7....long story short, I was playing drums in a band at age 13 or 14 and noticed that the bass player was playing everything wrong - I had a good ear and would actually play bass lines on the piano, then it occurred to me, hey, I should try bass...and stuck with that :) First song I learned was Feels So Good by Chuck Mangione - Charles Meeks on the natural Stingray!

1971 while in High School...yeah I am old. First Started on Trombone in 6th grade band, still have a acoustic guitar my folks got me in high school too. But soon after that I went and bought a cheap Epiphone bass.
I love all things bass more and more every day still. I play out in several groups a few times a month as much as possible... and practice more now that I am retired from a job than ever. And love buying and selling instruments from time to time. LOL
Bass is the best!!
