Whatcha watching?

I thought Civil War was really well made. Without spoilers, I didn't like that Dunst's character's fate was very obvious from the outset. Interesting balance of so mirroring the anxieties of our collective moment while staying essentially politically agnostic. I think politicized viewers wanting "their side" validated will be disappointed (which fits with the characters being journalists).

The way the story was told was the most impressive part. More than the story itself which, as you said, was somewhat predictable. The movie had great sound. I want to see it again in the fake IMAX theater near me that has fake IMAX but great sound.

I saw it today. Definitely artistically well done with some great camera work and visuals (and some truly tense moments), but overall it didn’t work for me. I think I wanted it to go a little harder, but in the end it was really just a violent “road trip” movie.

Similar for me. Being Alex Garland I was hoping for more of a twist ala Never Let Me Go, etc. so my expectations were high. I'd put it at a 7 or 8 out of 10.

Variety agrees with you: 'Civil War' Isn't as Scary as Modern America
(Warning for anyone who hasn't watched it, there are spoilers in that article.)

Regardless, I certainly agree with them on, "And to judge from how many tickets the film is selling, in a $25 million opening weekend that bodes well for the future of adult dramas with topical resonance (on that score let’s all be grateful)".

Fallout. 1 episode to go. It would be fair to say nobody is keeping open the option to wrap it all up in the next season. Not that I believe anyone will ask them to. Josh Wheeldon must be so jealous. Maybe he should work with Bethesda next time.

Didn't realise how much I been missing the post-apocalyptic nuclear dystopia. Funny how, somewhere between the game and the series, the need to part ways with recent history to make one has evaporated. Good excuse for the soundtrack, but.

Agreed. At least it's not a superhero/MCU, sequel, or remake like everything else in theaters. This was the first time I've left the house for a movie in a long time.

Finished Fallout. Wow! I very rarely get into a binge watching mode for a series. Most excellent. Questions were answered and the next season was all set up, all in the last episode (do the right thing, Amazon).

The blend of humor with everything else reminds me of the old series Z-Nation and Blood Drive (loved 'em both).

So, has anyone else called the Vault-Tec phone number to contact them for a residence? It was shown in one of Cooper Howards Vault-Tec ads, episode 6. I'd post it, but...nah... As my favorite rabbit, Bugs, used to say, "Ain't I a stinker?" :)

Will be finishing it tonight!
