Whatcha watching?

I'm glad you're giving it a shot. I play some games, but Fallout hasn't been on my radar at all. From reading around, it seems the TV series nailed the tone, humor, and world of the games. Still not gonna get the game, but I found that without the game knowledge, the TV series stood well on it's own.

Currently watching an old silent film, The Wind (1928), that I recorded from cable TV.

I gotta say, I'm not much interested in modern current offerings. Just tired of the sameness in sensibilities. Occasional shining films or series come out, but overall, just uninteresting stuff to me. For current movies, we just wait a few years until it's free.

These days I go for old films/TV, old or current foreign films/TV, art-house, independent, etc,.

I'm getting into it more after ep 2 (No, I'm not binge watching :)).

During the early pandemic I was stuck at home and watch a bunch of classic movies from the 20's-50's. Some of the best were not the ones you hear about.

Just finished season one of The Diplomat on Netflix.

One of the best written, most interesting series I've ever seen! Can't wait for season two. Honest, it's pretty riveting TV.

And last night I started re-watching the extended version of the Lord of the Rings trilogy. It's going to take a few evenings.

I liked her a lot in the Americans. Very believable actor. I thought she brought a lot to the Diplomat.

Just finished Constellation. See what all the fuss was about towards the end there. I'm happy that Sci Fi finally has the maturity to invoke quantum mechanics in its plots. So much more to fill out the stories than warp factors and wormholes.

Foundation. Surprisingly worthwhile. I read the Robot books when I was young and decided the big A was not for me. But I can easily see this being the ultimate expression of SF before Dune. Plus nice change when the plucky rebels are not the goodies battling the unmitigated evil of empire.

Served with a side of Morning Wars. Getting chicky with it. Don't wanna lose sight of that philosophy without the wife.
