Been meaning to give that a go, but the Dr Who universe aspect is giving me reservations (FWIW Tom Baker, and Peter Davison were my childhood Dr's - everything subsequent seems too safe, sanitised, and inspirational; I just wanted to be creeped out / terrified).

I'm a big fan of John Wyndham's 1953 novel "The Kraken Wakes", which has some genuinely unsettling moments, and is properly bleakly apocalyptic - so it'll be interesting to see how "The War Between The Land and The Sea" compares.

Classic - I remember going to see it at the cinema on my birthday, after having spent a mind blowing afternoon in Hamleys toy shop, on London's Regent Street, and spending all my birthday money (and most of my savings) on the Tron video game :



I don't know which I was more excited about, but I remember it being hard to concentrate on the begging of the movie, knowing I had that game in my bag.


If you enjoyed the movie, I definitely recommend the Netflix series.


P.S. am I the only one who thinks Bradly Cooper has the exact same facial expression as the Skeksis Chamberlain?

The series is pretty dark. The Doctor is only mentioned, the main tie in is UNIT.
Tom Baker was my first Doctor.
