Wyatt. It doesn't really matter, I wouldn't have watched it regardless. There's something lacking in Hollywood productions, the bigger they are, the dumber they seem to be. The more they spend on production, the further the film seems to distance itself from my sensibilities. Its a machine with recycled parts. I much prefer independent efforts with new faces that aren't recycled as well. I want to see actors with the kind of abilities that are earned rather than watch some substandard performance by the child of some luminous cog of the mechanization.
Im not much on Kate, either. There's probably some sort of connection between too many American actors and a parent that smacks of privilege for my liking. I want to see real people. People with physical flaws. People who earned their roles. I think that's what sets the U.K. productions apart from the stuff done here. I realize that many of the actors across the pond share connections with their parents as well, but it's on a different scale.
I don't think we would see a Barry Keoghan here. Nor Sally Hawkins, or Olivia Coleman, or for that matter, 80% of the actors in British and Irish productions. It seems the only time we see them here, it is long after they are established, and it's not because of the accent which they are perfectly capable of dropping.
