What's a gently used Geddy worth?

I have a gently used Geddy that still has a year on the GC two-year fully-transferable warranty.

I'm thinking real hard about selling it to fund a project (or maybe buy a stack), and was hoping to get input from you fine folk as to what I should expect to get for it.

I made a clear pickguard for it, as well as a clear control panel, but it's all back to original condition, now. No extra holes. No dings, 1 scratch you can barely see on the side of the body, and choice of Fender Lights flats or rounds. Would come with gig bag.

Eeeh, as much as you love the Gretsch, and yes I love em too, you will probably regret it eventually. Everyone comes back to a Jazz bass or what have you at some point, TB won't be the same without that red swirly Geddy Lee in your avatar. I say keep what you have, it's a great set up!

Yeah.. I already have the Gretsch.. I was thinking about buying another and having it defretted :D

You're right, though.. and I should put the roses back on, they look great :p

Well I meant regretting buying a second one eventually, I think the first one is easily a brilliant purchase. They better get a wider release, I'm not going to be poor forever :D

I just think you have all your bases covered with your Gretsch, Fretless, and Jazz. That's the approach I take to buying guitars, a solid body, a hollow body, an acoustic, do I need more? Not really.

Just my two cents, in any event: you have killer taste! hehe

Geddy is not so young, and I'm not sure if he is slightly used! :)

I paid $500 for mine about 1 year ago. No case only gig bag and a few of good size chips out of the back of the body. But, it is an amazing player and sounds awesome, so I don't care too much about the physical condition of the body. So, I would say $650 on the high end especially if you have a HSC.

New Geddys jumped in price in Winter '08 (I think) from $799 to $999. I've seen 'em on eBay and they never seem to go for more than $600.
It's a shame. I have a Geddy that just sits there in the case because I like my other basses more. It practically plays nicer than some American models I've played.
