what's better 4 bass phaser or flanger?

The phasers in the BEF/BEF Pro were inspired by the envelope phaser sound in the Pigtronix EP1. As we studied it, the sound is more like a phaser, but the actual circuit design is more like a filter.
We do sell a few Tri-Mod Phasers and a few Tri-Mod Flangers for bass applications. The ration is about 5 phasers to each flanger for bass applications.
I think there will be as much variety between different brands of phaser and flangers as there is between the two kinds of units.
In Boss-land I found I prefer the BF-3 Flanger. It seemed to keep more fundamental and sit better in the mix, probably b/c it has a slight volume boost. I cannot remember exactly which model of Boss Flanger I tried, but I foolishly gave that pedal away to a guitarist friend.

I'm about to pull trigger and buy some phasers and or Flanger pedals.
My cover band has added 99 red balloons gold finger style.
At 0:40 the bass comes in for a short segment with some combination of overdrive/fuzz and phaser/flanger.
Do you think it's more flanger or phaser?

Personally, I like flanger effects. the mxr micro flanger would be a good choice if you want a jet flanger effect.
