Whats needed for inlay work?

Ive been wanting to learn how to do inlays for a long time now. Ive heard a router and a jewellers saw is apparently all i need. However is this true? Id obviously practice on normal wood and not an instrument to begin with.

So with the router could you reccomend a model (and a bit size needed) im just looking for something to start out with but will last me as needed.

With the jewellers saw where could i find this (uk only please)

Any help would be much appreciated as ive had ideas going round for so long it would be really cool just just go ahead and do it.

Also any tips or guides you guys know of?

Cheers,
Rik

(P.S. Ill post pictures of my progress once i get going, promise :) )
