What's one thing do you think the entire WORLD could do without?

Sure they do.
They infect humans and other animals with diseases, some of them incurable, which slightly reduces populations that are otherwise difficult to diminish.
They also serve as good food for frogs, some snakes, mosquito fish, dragonflies, bats and birds.
Art.
You can take away ALL the art in the world and no one will die (well except artists but they can always deliver pizza full time).

If we didn't have trees, we wouldn't have anything to make basses with! Or a place for little boys make forts with so they can put up signs that say "No Girls Allowed!" and throw water balloons from at people passing by on the sidewalk!
As a Christian I'll have to disagree. The problem is MAN'S interpretation of religious texts, not religion itself. We're the fallible, imperfect ones, God is the perfect infallible One. we're the ones who twist religious texts to our own needs instead of just reading the texts and actually following it.
So, if we can't get on with religion instead of corrupting it and using it to control people and such, why not get rid of it? I think that might have been what the poster was hinting at.
But then, if God is so perfect, then why does evil go unpunished here?
Better question: If God is so perfect, why does he have so much trouble telling people what he wants? Every other person has their own view of what God wants. How hard is it to say something that is not interterpretable?
