What's so great about Lemmy?

That's my point precisely - most folks want to do something with their lives. Lemmy could have done even more if he weren't weighed down with his baggage.

How is it that you can make that call? Did he ever confide in you any shoulda woulda couldas? What exactly did he fail to do? In spite of himself, and all the odds, he accomplished more in his life than some schlub playing weekends in some local bar could ever hope for.

One might consider my musical career "some schlub playing weekends in a local bar" but many of those gigs were with guys who have markers on the Mississippi Blues Trail, or had played with Muddy Waters.


Lemmy may have had more success financially than I but I wouldn't trade his career for mine for any amount of money.


I personally wouldn't want his lifestyle either, once I got past being 22.

He may have been happy with how things went - I obviously can't speak to his state of mind. But most folks, when they see an alcoholic who has to drink a bunch of whisky to calm the shakes enough to sign some cd's, will posit that there was lost potential.

Not sure if it has been mention but Lemmy was a huge advocate for getting women into playing rock music. He also had a very impressive historical collection and actually corrected the History channel (Not like they make shows on history anymore anyway...) but super cool guy who was true to his roots and loved rock music like Little Richard and was an advocate for people.

Lemmy should not be analyzed as a bass player. Lemmy is "a package" of stuff, most of it cool. Since you can't find "another package" like him, that can only mean talent.
