3000+ for an open air music festival. It was both exhilarating and nerve-racking in equal measure. I'd do it again though

What's the biggest crowd you've ever played for?

Well, I played on a float in the St. Patricks Day parade here in Savannah the year that they said there were 600,000+ people.. hah I know that many weren't at the parade but it was cool..there was an estimated 350,000 + attending parade
I had to play for 4 1/2 straight that day, I was the only bassist on the float. It was great. Other than that I have played many festivals with 2,000-3,000 + in attendance.
But my normal weekend gigs are 100 usually
But all I can pay attention to is the first 10 rows or so... after that the people become a blur.

nice! inspiring to see so many 1k+! my biggest was only a few hundred at a festival which was pretty cool. we're doing another one next month that's supposed to have several thousand people so it should be fun (and pays killer too!)

Always good to play in front of hundreds or even thousands and then GET PAID isn't it?
Largest is in the 200-300 size but the bigger shows (if you'd call 250 big) aren't the ones I have the best memories of. 50 enthusiastic people is a special thing.
About 30,000 opening for Green Day at a large outdoor show. Lots of 10,000 or so shows on the first Warped Tour, and many 5,000 or so shows opening for Bad Religion on the Stranger Than Fiction tour. Of course, that was all years ago. These days I'm happy to get anything more than the bartender, a few drunks and a dog or two!
About 150 people, was the bands first paying gig and last gig at that. We packed the little hole in the wall club to capacity for 2 nights though.
About 300 people at a battle of the bands. But like a few of you have said here, it's not how many people there are listening to you but how into your music they are that makes a show sweet. We ended up winning the battle of the bands so that made it even better.
55,000 @ Olympic Stadium in Seoul. Felt very surreal, especially since they were so ultra-quiet and reserved. It reminded me of Bug's Life ("You all look like little ants!")
Not sure how many people were there that night, but my biggest was opening at the baseball game. Maybe 7,000 or so, the place holds alot more than that but it was durning the week so definately didn't fill up.

I once played for about 2,000 recruits at Fort Jackson. We were the 1st entertainment they'd had in 6 weeks, I think. They went absolutely nuts.

I think I was told it was about "10,000" (so I was told when I asked) at an outdoor Christian festival that "Rock Church' of Virginia Beach was part of way back in the late '70's. I was absolutely petrified.. I had no fun at all during the time we were on stage.
I'd say 500ish at a battle of the bands...I was playing guitar and singing though. It was weird because most of the people only cheered for "their" group
