What's the biggest crowd you've ever played for?

I played in the house band for a week in 2002 for the Church of God General Assembly. It was in the RCA Dome in Indianapolis. There were probably around 17,000-18,000 there. I find it much less personal playing in front of thousands than I do playing in front of a few hundred. It was a fun week.

Played for about 1500 last saturday night for an annual frat party. Last year we had a crowd of over 2000 at the same party. I have played for crowds over a 1000 probably 10 times.

A couple years ago I played in an original metal band that opened for Exodus......about 700. Now I am playing in a cover band and we will be doing a big local festival in a couple weeks....12K to 15K, so I'm told

Over 300,000 in 1969 . . . it was an anti-war rally in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco . . . I was playing with the SF cast of Hair, the rock musical . . .

More recently, at Mexico City's Vive Latino we had 35,000 or 40,000 people . . . there were three stages . . . and we had the biggest crowd of the 3 while we were playing . . .

My friend's the guitarist for a band called "Dearest". They won some sort of tour deal thing, and he played for 80,000 in Indonesia if I recall correctly.

Myself, probably 250-300 on drums... at age 11... at a street festival. Twas pretty cool.

I am intrigued by this story. would have been 250 people or so at a school concert, got to play two songs with one of my bands and the other got cut.

in 1980 July 4th Willie's Picnic in Austin Tex. 65,000 and the next weekend Jamboree in the Hills West Virginia 75,000.... we played 20 minutes at each one... Flew back to the Hotel in a helicopter at the picnic gig...... the fireworks were below us!!!
