Anybody know what this stand is? I'm looking for a stand I can use for gigs, that looks pretty good. It looks like it has the word ultra written on one of the legs.
Any insight would be appreciated

Anybody know what this stand is? I'm looking for a stand I can use for gigs, that looks pretty good. It looks like it has the word ultra written on one of the legs.

Weird, I just googled Custer and nothing came up. Did they have a model called the ultra? Because it definitely says Ultra on the leg of the stand.

Yeah, I Googled it too and couldn't find anything. Seems rather odd as they should at least have some legacy footprints laying around the internet, don't you think?
When I Googled 'Custer guitar stands' (view images), I got very little in the way of guitar stands and lots of General Custer (even a pic of Obama).
Can you point me to the thread where you first saw the photo of the stand? Thanks...

The Custer thing was a history joke. Its an Ultimate stand

So I was right with this then, the GS-200? The stand in the OP was lower than this, what's that ultra sticker about?
The GS1000 Pro looks pretty sweet for $40. Cheaper than Hercules and has the self closing hanger.

They aren't around anymore, but plenty other companies make a similar stand.

I have the hercules stand and it's great, just not that great for gigs with small stages. Plus there are some people who aren't that happy with a bass being held by the headstock.
I recently bought a new stand almost identical to the lower one in the photo. Paid $15 US. It seems to be very sturdy. I only use it in my office though, I have other stands at the church where I play.
It's nothing special, it's just a run of the mill stand.

That style comes in contact with the base of the headstock.
That clearly isn't happening in the picture.

Thanks for that. I know it might not seem all that, but it looks pretty sturdy, I like that there's a strap and that its not at the headstock.
I said 'it's a hanger stand' about the hamilton stand that Scatabrain posted a link to, I then posted the picture you've just put asking if it was close to the standing the picture. I think you've just got a bit confused ad misread a couple of posts.
