whats up with warwick?

It seems that there are no US dealers that have anything other than the RockBass line, they seem to have discontinued the Thumb Bolt-on, the Corvettes are made out of swamp ash now, and they never respond to any email inquires. Is the NYC custom shop still open? It's impossible to find any info on the website...

sorry, guess I'm just venting...I guess the weird economy has screwed with my favorite stock bass company...
good thing my Ken Smith will be here soon...

Local chuck leavens has German Warwicks in stock! So does hot lick guitars. Both a mom and pop shop. Hot licks actually carries like 20+ couple limited edition warwicks too.

Just sold my pnut on eBay too....and bought another pnut...

Warwick did in fact cancel a large percentage of their US dealerships for the German-made products. They are trying to focus the sale of higher-end basses through more of a boutique/custom shop retail model, as opposed to being in loads of stores.

The custom shop is definitely still open, though they failed to deliver an order I placed until I wrote an angry email to one of the high-ranking people at Warwick. Got my items about 5 months after I ordered them.

Are they still making that Spector rip-off model?

Please, don't be trolling.

They've got a ton of new models in their Korean lines and I think they are currently replacing the space they used in guitar stores with German warwicks with these, which are much more affordable. They are very well made, sound just as good but don't feel like German Warwicks.

There is now the thumb Bolt On made in Korea with Ovangkol body and maple neck. There is also the German model which is now a bubinga body and an ovangkol neck (like the NT model).
