Whats ur setting on the VT bass?

Hey justin I jus got 1 cause I totally dig the sound u got from the disciple clip on youtube. What settings do you normally use? (The disciple sounds like cranked drive and character at a low setting)

I find that the sound available dont appeal to me past 12 o clock at the character knob(too clanky and thin). The drive past noon sounds abit 'farty' through my 15w sx amp as well.

Hopefully this pedal will keep my gas away for a long while

I'm not sure, but most controls were around 12 o'clock, if memory serves. Extreme settings on that pedal don't work well for me, but some of the more basic things it does are without compare.

Great pedal. Like every one else has said everything about noon then go from there on personal taste. I use it as a pre-amp though so I have the drive at 0.

One question though...... you have a 15w sx amp and don't have any gas?

In my area, the organisers will have equipment prepared for the musicians. Most of the times, the equipments are pretty decent. Unless your a famous act, most people wouldnt take the effort or cash to fork out a transport to lug their personalised sound gears around. So the guitarists and bassists will usually just brg their guitars and efx pedals, and the drummers will jus brg their kick pedal and sticks.

But of course, my bedroom tone is important to a certain extent aswell. Since Im more in the mood to practise when the tone is good....and while the sx does the job, it sounds less than amazing. But Ive been spending too much cash to complete my pedalboard(its costing me more than my bass!) recently so I keep telling myself 'hey, if i can sound good through an sx i cant possibly sound crap through a hartke or ampeg!'

Also, Justin ur tone from 'the disciple' youtube vid sounds really driven. I doubt the drive is at anywhere near 12! Or are u using another efx for the distortion?

this page hasn't been update in a while, but give'er a look... there are also some shots of his NIN gear around his pages as well. while it's fun identifying JMJ's gear on different tracks, look at the pool of stuff he's choosing from...
