I have a Carvin R1000. It sounds really good, edgy, powerful then suddenly the sound would go down, clipping, very fuzzy, very thin sound & is very very crappy. I bought new chords but problem persists. I thought the speakers are busted so brought it to the Carvin store in Hollywood but it sounded very well there, but when i brought it practice it sounded good for awhile then started to clip again & very fuzzy. What do you think would be the problem?

first check your send and recieve jacks. the switches in them could be oxidized. caig de-oxit can make them happy again.
to test it, just plug a short 1/4"-1/4" patch cord in the loop and leave it in there. if it doesn't do it anymore, then that's the problem.
or if you're possibly using an active bass (?), check it's battery.

Thanks for you reply. There's send & recieve there but i don't use it at all, i just leave it there. As for the battery, i don't think it would be the problem coz i remove the battery after i use, i only rehearse about once or twice a week. Tks.

OP, John is trying to diagnose your problem. Whether you use you FX loop or not is immaterial. In fact if you don't use the loop it is more likely to cause problems. Link the jacks with a signal cable and see if the problem goes away.
There is absolutely no reason to remove your bass's battery. It is disconnected as soon as you unplug your instrument cable. Mine, in five basses, are always in the bass.
