What's wrong with the Rickenbacker 4003?

I now own four “lawsuit” Rics - walnut, blue, fireglo, black - mainly for looks alone.

I'm in the uninitiated crowd. What do you mean "lawsuit?" Genuinely curious as I start my first Rickenbacker ownership soon.

Idk why this landed in my feed, but I just got my ric back from the Luther to straighten out the lousy nut and fret job. $100 later I have a $2000 instrument that is almost playable.

Update on that, I am starting a defect warranty case with Rick.... The neck is set way too low.

If you bought your bass new through an authorized dealer, I suggest having the dealer intercede on my behalf. It worked out well, and I imagine that the dealer carries a bit more heft than any individual purchaser.
