@Deeper Texan is on target.I'm just guessing, but they look like chill water system pumps, but the piping is different from the ones I've been involved with.
So....?
Upon closer inspection of the photos, and another sip of coffee, I now believe they are large compressors.
I am currently doing maintenance on a trio of 2500-ton Duplex Centrifugal chillers.
Duplex meaning two 1250-ton compressors on one chiller.
In order to maybe get a clearer reference on the size of these, 1 ton of cooling capacity = 1 horsepower of energy.
Panel-side, compressors are obscured by the Adaptive Frequency Drives

you can just make out the compressors sitting on top…

Maintenance is the worst part…I did two out of three and I’m ready to quit and become a YouTuber…
These have also been “shoehorned” in. There are plenty of pipes and electrical conduits overhead that prevent an easy compressor disassembly. The MER is also pretty dumpy by my standards…If they are anything like the ones I worked on, they have been installed in areas, just big enough to fit, but not big enough to access. But yours are much cleaner, than what I dealt with. I usually had two inches of oil, on the floor.
