Whats your fastest bpm for straight 16th notes?

When I was a kid, there was this idiot we used to hang out with that told us one day they had a guitar speed contest with Jimmy Page, Pete Townsend, Toni Iomi, and Richie Blackmore. He said they put these wired sleeve like things on their fingers and were able to time how fast they played. He really wanted us to believe him too. What makes people make crap like that up? I wonder if he still does that kind of thing as an adult. I'm tired. I need to go to bed.

Oh yeah, Jimmy Page won. I'd have put my money on Blackmore.

jeeez don't you think we're trolling the OP just a tad too much?
I mean, JMJ has a bit of a punk background, I'm sure he played some fast stuff. and I'm sure he has no idea, just like most of us don't.
So ok, the question may be pointless, but it still beats the "do you prefer Bolivian Bubinga or Paraguaian wenge on your five piece neck for your new, LED improved extended 9 string bass".

^^^

Seems like some people are 'too cool to go fast'. Im totally fine with that, but at least some creativity with the sarcasm...

'I can play so fast that it distorts the time-space continuum around my bass, interfering with the normal operation of metronomes/clocks/timers/stopwatches/hourglasses so I couldn't tell you with any degree of accuracy. '

Am I supposed to applaud or laugh??? ideas please
