What's your favorite color?

When I first started playing bass 14 yrs. ago I hated white....now I like it...I like lake placid blue and surf green also.

I like a good sunburst on a jazz, and fiesta red. But there's something about a sunburst on a fender jazz that feels right, ya know?

This is a really interesting poll to me, in the context of puzzling over how the manufacturers always seem to make such boring (to me) color choices. I am a huge fan of golds, especially Shoreline Gold, and I've always assumed that I had a lot of company, but it appears that is not the case. No wonder it doesn't show up often. Guess those marketing folks know what they're doing. . .

I like it too. It's a Peavey, but I can't name the model...

The OP's question is too hard. I like too many to pick just one. When I decided to invest in a Ric, I had to go au naturale because I like all of their finishes except Jetglo. Transparent black is cool but I am in the minority who do not like black instruments.

Funny - there are numerous exhaustive threads on these forums bemoaning the lack of color options offered by Fender, but when polled Sunburst, Black and White are the most popular choices. Guess the marketing guys got it right after all.

With that said, my preferences are for rootbeer, black, white, natural, and sunburst so I guess my choices pretty much coincide with the vast majority. I do wonder though, if certain colors would be more popular if they were more visible - in other words are we so used to seeing black white and sunburst that these colors have come to define the aesthetic? I suppose certain colors (seafoam green for instance) could be considered less traditional and more trend-oriented. Hm.

Personal faves are sunburst (have two, a P and J) and black (only one P so far, but that '77 J looks pretty sweet).

GASing for white, natural, metallic blue, surf green, CAR, butterscotch blonde...pretty much ALL colors come to think of it! Then we get into fretboard and pickguard choices...

If I could redo the poll, there are a couple of tweaks I'd make, like adding "Trans Blue (Blueburst, etc.)", re-naming Walnut as "Natural (Ash, Walnut, Rosewood, etc.)", re-naming the metallics all the same, etc.

In the end, I don't think it matters much because so much of the market prefers only a handful of colors.

Black is my fave, I also like white, silver, red w/dark tortoiseshell pickguard, gunmetal grey, and sunburst. Black can work for everything though.

Aquamarine metallic. Fender didn't make it long. My '01 American Jazz has it, with a maple fingerboard. I put a black/white/black pickguard on it. Only problem is, after awhile I end up putting the OEM parchment pickguard back on. Then, after another while, it's back to black. LOL, I wonder which one will be on it the day I die?
