There was a show on the BBC for a very brief period of time (due to being so graphic) called "Misinformation," I borrowed the DVD of the entire series (4 episodes) and there was tons of crazy conspiracies and soforth. CIA sex slaves is a pretty good one.

In my perhaps simple-minded view, to make social structures ever more compliant with the consolidation and further accumulation of private wealth and power. The end result might be something very like a worldwide fascist-type government.

Re: the bolded section: I agree and will attempt to refrain from taking this anywhere that will get it shut down.

Perhaps my view is over-simplified, as well. Within the context of the conversations I had with my old friend, the group in control of world affairs was all-powerful (alien technology, the ability to start and control the outcome of wars, the stock market, etc). To me, that makes no sense.

A group that has that kind of influence wants for nothing. They are at the top of the food chain with nothing threatening their existence. At that point wealth and money are not even an afterthought. There's no need to subjugate the masses if you already own them.

You are as close to god-like as can be imagined on this planet. In my view, the only reason to weild that kind of power is for ego....and what better way to stroke an ego than to be recognized as one of the few that run the planet? Yet this super-secret society keeps themselves behind closed doors and supposedly continues to pull the strings to add pennies on top of what surely must be trillions? Makes no sense.

I'm not saying there aren't people with stroke that don't "run" a country, but the worldwide conspiracy bit just doesn't float to me.
