The Nordy VJ4 gets my vote. Fantastic feel and playability, amazing preamp with 3band tone controls and passive tone rolloff as well.

My 1964 Fender Custom shop Jazz bass relic. It has twang! Especially with a nice fresh set of DR low riders on it. It's a great weight at 9lbs. Has nice low action. And it looks really cool on stage. I have not recorded with it yet but I know it's going to sound awesome when I do.
