I've been learning, and likely will learn way more about equipment before I actually buy more...

I must admit to though, even wih my limited knowledge, and even more limited budget, to having a certain amount of GAS for certain pieces of equipment...

First and foremost, I would love to own a 4 string PJ passive bass. But i would like one with a narrow neck.... I am really loving the Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar Bass Special, but it is an active bass.

My most likely candidate if I can find one, is a Squier Standard P Bass Special 4-String Bass Guitar in either Candy Apple Red, or lacking that, I would be willing to do a full refinish to something similar to Lake Placid Blue. I would likewise have no qualms whatsoever taking a current VM PJ pass in Lake Placid Blue and swapping over a Jazz neck... The standard P neck I am not a big fan of...

For a budget bass, I would love to grab a Squier Vintage modified Jaguar bass V Special. I have been playing one at the music shop, and am REALLY tempted to buy it... Price is fair, and for a 5 stringer I have no problems navingating the neck, unlike some of the 5 and 6 stringers I have tried that felt like the fretboard was an aircraft carrier flight deck...

I haven't been able to play one full, or even past about 1/4 volume, but the exposure I have had SO FAR to the Fender Rumble 500 2x10 combo is vastly superior to the original Rumble 100 I played years ago, and am so far impressed. If I can get the $$ together, and get a chance to run through this the full way I am seriously considering this combo, with the Rumble 1x15 extension cab. I am more than a little confident that I will never need it... As I have mentioned in prior threads, I jam with a drummer friend with no concept of volume control, and would like to cut through. I am probably going to get some grief for not going with a separate head / 4x10 / 1x15 rig, I am not ruling that out, but from what I am able to test play, I am liking the Rumble 500 2x10 combo...

I would also like to replace my current Nady SP5 dynamic mics with Shure SM58, Don't get me wrong, the Nady is fine, but when compared to the Shure, it is a bit, I dunno, flat sounding.

I would also like to cough up to replace my cheap mic stands with Hercules mic stands. The cheapie when I put a heavier mic on it, tends to try to droop no matter how tight I have the boom locked down. That annoys the snot out of me.

I have additional GAS that I am learning isn't correct to discuss here as some folks seem to have a moral issue with certain vendors. I will just say I would like a bigger mixer, enough inputs for a full drum set AND guitars, bass, keys, mics etc... I am not wedded to any one vendor, I am just more familiar with one particular vendors products is all...

Likewise, a multitrack recording interface would be awesome!

So what are you GASing for and is there any special reason for that GAS?

While reading your post (3rd paragraph), I thought to myself: "I know the perfect bass for this guy... A Squier P Bass Special." And then I moved on to the 4th paragraph and I'm like: "Ok... he doesn't need my help... he knows what he's talking about." lol. The Squier P Special is a great bass btw.

Anyway, back to the topic...

I don't think my GAS will ever end lol, but here's my current list:

Fender Roger Waters Signature P Bass Body. Why? I want a P bass body to go with my neck (Fender Duff Mckagan Signature), I love the pickup that's in it, and it's literally all black (except for the neck plate)... best fit for the neck I want to put on it (which is literally all black).

Squier Matt Freeman Signature P Bass. Why? It's a P bass! It looks, sounds, and feels amazing!

Ampeg Portaflex 800. Why? I'm currently using a little 80w combo, so I need a good amp head, and this one sounds FANTASTIC!!

Ampeg 810 Cab. Why? Well, I need a cab, don't I?

Now, I could go on and on... but these are the things I want the most and also the things I'll probably be buying in the next little while.

Two things
A B9 organ pedal
A zoom MS 70 cdr pedal.
I have never been an effects guy, but reading about these I think used correctly the could add to the sound of my trio.
The B9 I have heard. So I'm thinking??????

I have a pretty cheap rig, a Fender Rumble 150 v2 head and a 1-15 cab that has a pretty decent driver in it.

I'd really like a more pro rig, an Aguilar ToneHammer 500 or GK MBF 500 and some Aggie or Bergantino cabs.

I'm at a point in my life (54, kids out of college, etc) where I'd like to splurge on a pro rig.

I just got done having a look at the Sandberg website. I think my major purchase GAS is leaning in that direction. I don't know if I'll ever afford one, but I sure would like to have one.

Down to more reasonable levels for my wallet, I'm GASing for a Roadworn Precision in sunburst. I've heard a lot of great things about these basses, so I'm going to local a few locally and give them a test run.

And, I recently found out that Schecter is still selling the Model-T. I played one when they first came out years ago in a store, and liked it quite a bit, but I wasn't buying at the time, so I passed it up. I would really like to have one.

GAS List (realistic):
Fender Jazz body for my Geddy Lee neck

BOSS LM-2B, ODB-3, and a GEB-7 (cheap and efficient)

And a rig for around a grand



Oh, and my buddies SRX705, it's been at the guitarists/drummers house for years, I use it all the time, it got me into 5 strings, but I want to own it...

well, there's that chapman stick I have on order... who knows when they'll even ask me for a deposit. It's been months.
SO it's still my main GAS... because I consider myself more than a bassist, and dragging a two keyboard rack to shows along with my bass rig is just ... a lot. Looks cool though. I figure I'll look even cooler slinging a space-age tapper if I A) ever get B) can learn to play it sufficiently.
Another part of that GAS is the Roland gr-55 I;m gonna be getting to go with the Gk-3 installed on the chapman melody side
oh sweet jeezus I'll >$3000 deep
