My vaguely realistic GAS list includes an Ampeg V4B or a Fender Bassman 100T with matching 4x10 cabinet.
My ridiculously unrealistic GAS list includes James Jamerson's Funk Machine and Flea's' 61 Jazz before he spoiled it with stickers.

After being GAS free for almost 15 years, i went to a shop with a friend who wanted to buy a guitar and had no idea what to get. While he was trying out a few models,
i wandered off into the bassment and found a pre-fire Dingwall Prima hanging there. They asked €1750 for it and i was tight on cash, but i started saving. When i had the cash together, the bass was sold. It was hanging there for more than 3 years and like two weeks before i called, they sold it. So i took in the market and after checking out several cool basses, i got myself a nice custom made by an austrian luthier. When i took that to the next rehearsal, i was not satisfied with my amp any more. After a lot of research, i got myself an aguilar stack. After that, i needed a few pedals and built a board with a compressor, two OD pedals and a tuner. Then i leaned back, satisfied and saw that everything was good. Set up for the next 15 years.
But alas, i did not estimate the power of GAS correctly.
Since i'm set up quite well, I don't feel the urge to get any new stuff quick, but still, there are items i desire.
Here's my list:
-Ampeg SVT head. I feel like i need to own one while i'm still able to haul it around.
-Dingwall. Not decided which one, the Super P 5 looks tempting but basically every single Dingwall is a beauty.
-Little Guitar Works torzial twist fanned fret 6 string - this thing looks so weird that i have to get one.
-A bass with a carbon/graphite neck. Status, Modulus, whatever. With dots that light up.
-Sadowsky Modern 5 String fretless - i played one, loved the tone and neck - i want one.
-fEARless cabs. Something like a 15/6/1 plus a 15 Sub - just because i think this is a very cool idea of cabs.
-Steinberger XL2-5w If i ever come across one of these super rare beasts and have the means to buy it, it'll be mine.
-Ibanez BTB676sc - probably the most affordable thing on my list.

I play guitar and bass, and since I just got a Fender Rumble 100 watt bass amp, next up is a Fender Mustang II 40 watt 1X12 guitar amp. After that, well I like my Blacktop Precision bass pretty well, but I think I might also like a regular MIM P-bass.
These days, my GAS is Gig Acquisition Syndrome, because my band has been pathetically dormant. Gear wise, I'm set very nicely, but of course there's always something. Or a few things...like:
G&L LB-100 or Fender American Standard Jaguar -- I don't have a traditional alnico pickup P-bass, and either one of these would do the job tone wise. I usually prefer G&L, but the Jaguar is really cool and if I encountered one at the right price I know I'd cave in to the GAS.
G&L fretless, either M-2500 or MJ-5 -- I haven't had a fretless for years, but would like one, and the excellence of my M-2500 has me convinced that either of these G&L's would make a spectacular fretless.
G-K MB-500 Fusion -- Love my MB-500, but wouldn't mind warming up the tone a bit with those preamp tubes in the Fusion variant.
Telecaster, either Fender or G&L , or a good semi-hollow guitar -- Most of my GAS is for guitars these days, and the next one needs to be a Tele or a semi-hollow like, for example, a Reverend Manta Ray with P-90's. Almost bought one at a guitar show recently, and have regretted my failure to pull the trigger.

It's most likely something odd-ball. I am a fan of things that are less popular that have an interesting look but a decent tone.

My bass G.A.S. is done. Honest, it really is.
Amp G.A.S., well no, I still have issues. My SVT 3 Pro/SVT 212 AV setup is great, I love it. But, every time I get to play through an all tube SVT/SVT 810 I'm reminded how wonderful that combination sounds.
Sigh.

I have GAS for three basses now, all available at my local dealer whom I have paid a deposit for my first GAS, a Sandberg VM5 aged with upgrades, 'Pino' color - very versatile tonally and suits aesthetically as most times I play heavier repertoire.
However I can add on a bit more cash and use that deposit for a Maruszczyk frog 5 , a beauty... Humbuckers hidden under a ramp, padouk fretboard, tone monster as well from the glockenlang Pre amp.
My third GAS, adding some more cash and causing me to eat Ramen will be a fodera NYC ... I've always wanted a Fodera but never within reach. Same mike pope Pre amp like the present day standard series. This one comes with JJ pickups.
I have two weeks before I have my cash to pay the remaining amount or 4 weeks more if I intend to go for the NYC.

id really love to grab an aguilar db410 to run with my SVT when i am too lazy to schlep the 810 (any one every tried that pair?). next on the list would be a whammy pedal and to replace my ehx microsynth (although neither of those pedals make any sense for my current gigs, why not?)
Well, I have a beautiful Roscoe CS+5 fretted with a Koa top. I just ordered a Roscoe CS+5 fretless with a Quilt Maple top. I'm fairly GAS free. I will always look, but I am a Roscoe guy so I guess my GAS would maybe be for a Roscoe P/J 5. Gotta pay for the fretless first.
idk, maybe a new "perfect" 4 string for my any day any gig, and a fretless 6 just cuz. ;p'
Honestly, I have no clue where to start... I already have dropped money closer to 2 grand for a bass, so that kind of money isn't a surprise to me for a good bass.
Idk, something with 24 frets or more, PJ pickups or humbuckers (still can't decide) and with either an amazing wood finish or in white with a rosewood fretboard. Would love to try out a fodera one day.

Wow, that's only the second mention of an LM-2B I've ever seen on this site! I thought I was the only one!
I'm pretty set on the amps front - I have a Fender Super Bassman + Ampeg 212AV at my place and a Mesa Walkabout + Ampeg 212AV at my girl's place. I take both rigs to a gig, running the Super Bassman into both cabs, with the Mesa as backup. At some point, maybe I'll swap the Walkabout for a V4B.
On the bass front, I've got a Sadowsky RV4 and a Fender MIA P Bass. I'd like to get a Sadowsky NYC 5 String P (with maple fingerboard), but no funds for that right now - and frankly, the basses I have keep me well covered.
Kinda jonesing for a Gibson Hummingbird acoustic guitar, so I don't have to cart my Taylor back and forth between houses. First world problem to be sure.
I'm pretty blessed, I suppose...

I wanted a Jazz bass and wound up buying a Geddy Lee JB. Not what I was expecting to get but I really like it a lot. Who knows what will be next?
Looking at em through my phone what's your experience with them? The highest end basses I've tried are my stingray and d.huff bass someone I know has. And honestly the d.huff's my favorite...
