This got me thinking. In my 20's I settled on 0.30-0.90, changed to 0.35-0.95 in my 30's. Now I'm in early 50's and have loved 0.40-0.100 for the last 4 years. D'aDarrio Xl 190's. Those early years I wouldn't think of anything but Roto swings. Now I've found the perfect strings for me.

I generally like to keep the G string between 40 and 45, and the E between 100 and 105, depending on brand/type.

For example:

D'A Chromes Flats, 40-60-80-100
D'A XL Nickel Rounds, 45-60-80-107
DR Sunbeams, 45-65-85-105
DR Fatbeams, 45-65-85-105
DR Nickel Lo-Riders, 40-60-80-100
Fender 9050 Flats, 45-60-80-100
La Bella DTF, 43-60-82-104

Multiple.
My Fender fretless P gets 55-105 Fender flats.
My fretted Fender Jazz with the maple neck gets D'Addario 45-100 rounds.
My SBV-500 gets the light set (45-95) of GHS Precision Flats. These are the most expensive string out of them all.
